Provisional to Driver is written and run by a qualified UK Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). This page explains how we approach accuracy, independence and corrections.
Where our guidance comes from
Content on this site is based on official UK sources — GOV.UK, DVSA guidance and the Highway Code — combined with real experience working with learner drivers and their families. Where an article references a specific rule or campaign (such as DVSA’s Ready to Pass? guidance), we link to the source rather than paraphrasing it as our own authority.
Editorial independence
Provisional to Driver includes affiliate links and sells digital products. Commercial relationships do not determine what we recommend or how we describe it. We don’t write an article because an advertiser has asked for one, and we don’t call a product “the best” without a clear, stated reason. Our full approach to affiliate links is set out in the Affiliate Disclosure.
Keeping content accurate
Rules around learning to drive and taking the practical test can change — the 2026 test booking rules are one recent example. We review and update articles where guidance changes, particularly on pages covering legal requirements, test rules and safety.
Corrections
If you spot something that’s out of date, unclear or incorrect, please tell us via the Contact page. We’d rather know and fix it than leave it standing.
What this site is not
Provisional to Driver provides general educational information for parents and supervisors. It is not a substitute for professional driving instruction, and it does not replace official DVSA guidance for your specific circumstances.
