Provisional to Driver is written and run by a qualified UK Approved Driving Instructor. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, and this page explains exactly what that means and how we handle it.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a link to a product or service from another company. If you click one of these links and go on to buy something, Provisional to Driver may earn a small commission. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer.
Which affiliate programmes we use
- The Amazon Associates Programme, for physical products such as vehicle safety and practice-related items.
- The Awin affiliate network, through which we work with individual advertisers such as insurance, breakdown cover, dash cam and vehicle maintenance providers.
Where an article contains affiliate links, we say so clearly near the top of that article, not just on this page.
How we decide what to recommend
- We only link to products or services genuinely relevant to learner drivers, supervising parents, or safer private practice.
- We don’t write fake or invented reviews, and we don’t accept payment in exchange for a positive recommendation.
- We avoid calling any single provider “the best” unless there’s a clear, stated reason — you’ll more often see wording like “worth considering if…” or “useful for…”.
- Where more than one provider offers a similar service (for example, breakdown cover), we aim to mention the realistic options rather than pushing a single advertiser.
A note on insurance and financial products
Some of our affiliate partners offer insurance or other financial products. Nothing on this site is financial advice. Articles covering insurance, breakdown cover or similar products are written to be informational and neutral — always read the full policy terms and check directly with the provider before buying, rather than relying on a summary in a blog post.
